Royal Basin
Backpack trip with Emerson, Sarah E., Brendan, Brian, Tristan, and Tristan’s brother Dane. Got a super delayed start on Friday night and ended up sleeping in my truck bed at the trailhead. Made my way up to the basin in pouring rain Saturday morning and decided to stick around. The weather improved and our time exploring the basin was actually pretty nice. We camped at Royal Lake and I did a lot of fishing. Lots of brook trout in the lake but they were fairly finicky. Only caught three after several hours of fishing.

Overnight at royal basin. Skin to basin route. Two bologna treed knoll sections above and below royal lake- try to stay on trail! Also scary road to get to upper dungeness th, be sure to bring chains!!
