Lovely walk through ancient woodland and around edge of hill. Views are mostly through trees. Note that it gets very muddy, best in dry weather.
Decent parking on verges of road.

Quiet and rural walk. Mostly in agricultural areas with harvesting going on. Quite a bit on country lanes. Easy walking.

First class walk and a great Easter Sunday hike. Beautiful sunny day and warm for early April. Fabulous views from some of the highest points on the South Downs. The Iron Age Hill Fort at the Old Winchester Hill is a real highlight too. Stunning location and still amazingly intact. All off road and dry under foot. Couple of fairly long ascents but moderate overall. Family and dog loved it.

A scenic and at times gruelling ramble but with extraordinary views of the South Downs in Hampshire. We stopped off for lunch at the Hawkley Inn - strongly recommended - as well as the church in Hawkley, which is spectacular. The highlight was the poet’s Edward Thomas’ memorial.
