Long straight 8 miles uphill leg to a base camp. Went on the south side to get around . Saw a mountain lion then a bear and it’s cub on the way down.
Started too late and finished in the dark

Nice easy flat hike through the beautiful redwood groves. Some fascinating big trees, including one the seems to have bent about 40 feet to entwine with a bigger one.
