Snowy and Icy Yerba Canyon Roaming
Beautiful but only made it a mile before snow and ice turned us back. Had micro spikes but kept postholing.

Italianos Canyon, Carson N.F., Taos, NM
A nice break from July’s blazing rays. The Italianos trail starts out criss-crossing a stream (11 crossings, according to our guidebook) amid tall evergreens. About a mile up, aspens start to intermingle. Then at about 2.5 miles, you encounter a series of mountain meadows (which right now teem with wildflowers).
