Great trail for solitude in old growth Oregon forest. Easy to run, especially going down. A little overgrown in sections, but never had a problem finding the trail. No sweeping, expansive views, but a few peeks here and there between the trees.

This was a great short hike mixture of trees dunes and beach. One other couple out there today end of April, most likely different when campground open and summertime.

I’d love to rate this as a 4.5 instead of 4. Much fun hike, but sadly no views until the summit. I would love to go back and do this again when the upper mountain has some snow. There was some ice on the trail but spikes not needed, YET. I would bring them from now on as it will only get colder and more slick up there. At the summit I had views of Seekseekqua (Jefferson), Wy’east (Hood) and also Faith, Hope and Charity (the Three Sisters) as well as the ocean!Definitely will be coming back!

This is a great loop that can be done clockwise or counterclockwise and takes you through an enchanting forest of some old growth trees, tons of happy green ferns, and a small creek. We did the hike clockwise, which made for a nice descent that ended with some beautiful views of the ocean and blooming Salal. It was fairly quiet and a nice escape from the hot summer weather in the valley. There aren’t any epic ridge views, but the trail is very well maintained and there is a good diversity of plants and foliage to view. You can easily make this a longer loop if desired or want to do as a trail run.

Nice hike through the forest. Not a lot of scenic vistas but the trail is in very good shape compared to others I have hiked on the Coast in the last month or two (no mud, only a couple down trees).

Moderately trafficked trail with views of Heceta Head Lighthouse, down to Hobbit Beach. Was a bit muddy in parts, but certainly passable with proper hiking boot. Would not recommend with white tennis shoes.

The views are amazing. The waterfall is stunning in the fall covered trees and water is just rushing through the fall. Heavily traveled path. Better in the morning of trying to get a more peaceful hike in with less people.

Amazing views everywhere you look here, multiple short little trails. Do the st. Perpetua trail either from the top or the visitor center, great cliffs and vista view, also check out all the spouting horn, Thor’s well, tide pool action down on the water.

more of a walk than a hike but lovely views of the coast and interesting stuff to see like devil's churn and spouting horn. a nice mix of up and down, too, so you see the views from different perspectives and go in and out of the forest.
one caution: more than half the folks we encountered were not wearing masks or distancing and the path is narrow.

This is a short, yet beautiful out & back trail. This well maintained trail provides views of 3 amazing waterfalls & big impressive old growth trees. The trail drops in elevation a little over 900', but it’s easy going on the way back. The trail surface is mostly wide & level, but you should pay attention on the switchbacks as there are some rock tripping hazards. The trailhead has a pit toilet, but no other services. Bring your camera because there are lots of great photo ops along the trail. Leave no trace friends and I wish you all Happy Trails!

Lots of road noise for much of the hike. It was nice to be in the cool forest on a warm day and very few people between Hobbit Beach Trail and lighthouse. View of lighthouse was awesome, but next time I’ll start at lighthouse and take short walk up to view point. Trail from lighthouse up the hill would be a great training route as elevation gain is legit! I won’t repeat this hike. It was kinda boring and similar views can be had elsewhere.

Research how to get there and screen shot the directions so you’re not relying on cell service. It can be a tricky one to find!
Well maintained trail with beautiful trees, fungi, mosses, and scenery. Downhill in....which means uphill out.
