Parking is at a forest service gate on Damascus Church Road, room for maybe 2-3 cars without blocking the gate it everyone’s being conscientious. For 99% of the trail, you’re on an old Forest Service Rd and there are 2 scrambles at the end for the two falls. The hard scramble is Maxie Duke Falls. There are ropes to assist. She’s covered in deadfall so if you can only get to one fall, make it Sid’s. The trek down to Sid’s is well worth it…this is a truly majestic waterfall!

These falls are an easy out and back hike with a very steep descent for the last 50 yards or so to two separate falls. Sid's falls to the right branch of the trail and Magie Duke falls to the left branch. There is a rope strung along the descent to Magie duke falls to help get back up and is needed particularly with wet leaves covering the path. You can't get a great view of Magie Duke falls without doing some creative maneuvering to get closer once you reach the creek floor. Sid's fall is a beautiful natural wonder and well worth the short hike. You will not be disappointed. Parking is open and easy to find. I will go back again I am sure.....

Another loop near Big Island Ford. Rode with MK, Mary Hayes and Patty Machler. Rode thru control burned area which I thought was pretty cool. We were supposed to cross river but turned too soon right.

Beautiful Trails. Great Footing for horses. Ground pretty soft. Went with Marykay, Mary, Patty and Tammy. Great Cabin. Sleeps 5. I got Queen bed this trip. Paddocks are right behind our cabin.

Started on the Palmetto Trail connector at Oconee Station to add a few miles. Some wildflowers blooming at Station Cove Falls.

This is a fairly easy trail, well marked and maintained, a few muddy spots....the portion of the trail that goes to Hiker's Peril Falls is in good shape. There was a new boardwalk and stairs added just past the Falls heading towards the Fish Hatchery to get over a badly eroded section of the Foothills Trail. Overall, very pleasant hike in the woods, several easy stream crossings.

Musterground rd is open for hunting season only. It passes through to Gorges State Park at the iron bridge. High elevations, lots of views, recommend. Many waterfalls along the way. Enjoy!

Great in and out hike! Water flow over the falls is tremendous. Lots of mushrooms at this time of year. Good hike for moderate hikers (2-2.5 mph).

This a great in and out hike that is well mark and maintained. The boulders at the river are great for a mid-hike lunch. This a strenuous hike - with the hike out from the river being the toughest. Love it, would do it again.

This is a hike for solitude. It is in the woods on a logging road that has not been maintained. Several trees are down. There is an obvious path. Perhaps hunters use this area. Parking is on the side of a busy two lane mountain road.

Parksville Loop in a Lexus GX470. Some parts are washed out and overgrown. I made it through ok. Definitely need 4 wheel drive with high clearance bumper. Beautiful scenery, historical buildings and graveyards, really cool!

Beautiful Trail wonderful hike pretty much downhill all the way. previous post was accurate, a lot of downed trees made for some very difficult challenges on the trail. Pretty worn out but we all made. 😄

Quite a pleasant surprise! A beautiful falls! Easy parking access. It was a great time as we experienced the blue ridge mountains/escarpment turning green! Not too far for older or younger hikers. We will be back.

Wonderful loop through a natural area more like the Appalachians than sand hills of South Carolina. Best time is early spring when the flowers are all in bloom. Also has Spiny Gooseberry, a rare, endangered plant.

One of my favorite rivers in the southeast—water was high (too high to wade across the upper crossing), but fairly clear. No fish (water below 50 F), but a gorgeous day.

Awesome experience! Specially after a decently steep hike down you come across this beach area where you can snack or just relax before making the last quarter mile to the waterfall.
Be wary though! MAKE SURE YOU USE THE CORRECT ENTRANCE....
