Overview

Located in the South Carolina's pristine Blue Ridge Mountains, Table Rock State Park offers outdoor recreation with hiking trails linking various South Carolina state parks and preserves. Hike to the top of South Carolina's highest peak or paddle on Pinnacle Lake.

Getting Started

Table Rock State Park

If bagging state high points interests you, consider hiking to the top of Pinnacle Mountain. The moderately strenuous trail also covers most of the points of interest within the park all in one go. If you can't commit to an entire day of hiking, consider the short loop trail that passes Green Creek and Carrick Creek Falls.

After hiking, dip into Pinnacle Lake's swimming area in the summer months or enjoy a picnic with a view.

The park has one campground and historic cabins to rent if you're looking to extend your day trip to a multi-day. Reservations are highly suggested during peak seasons. Learn more about camping options here.

When to Go

The park can be enjoyed year-round, though winter conditions can affect trail status.

Permits

Enter the park and pay the entrance fee. Don't forget to pick up a parking permit if you plan on staying overnight. Hikers should fill out a hiker registration form before hitting the trails.

Dog Info

Pets are permitted in most areas of the park provided they are on a leash. Pets are restricted from the cabin and cabin areas, along with the swim beach. For more information, contact the park staff.

Lots of fallen trees but overall trail was clear. Steady climbing ascent to pinnacle mountain with some stair climbs right before summit. From summit to ridge, very easy breezy, mosty flat. This is the more remote part of the hike so keep an eye out for wildlife. Connects back to table rock trail for a steep descent back to parking lot. Overall great ~4hr day hike if you stay on the move and keep a pace.
