Unloaded at the cattle collection pens, rode to Sheep Creek and followed it to Willis Creek Canyon entrance. Rode up Willis Creek Canyon to just past waterfall then returned. Beautiful views, easy ride.

Easy ride with red dirt Trail. No shoes needed. Soft trail that goes down into the wash with Canyon walls on each side. Very interesting formations. Can go as far or short as you want.

Fairly flat in to the slot canyon. Easy trail to follow. Slot had 5.5 ft of water throughout. Lots of scrambling and climbing involed

BLM camping area near Capital Reef NP. Plenty of space to fit a group or go solo. The road to get there is paved but once you turn off hardball you will need to judge it at your own risk due to current conditions. Weather could change the conditions of the dirt road into the campsite. Please leave it cleaner than you found it and no open fires.

I FOUND IT!
Finding archeological sites such as rock art and ruins are easy to find if you begin in the right Canyon. 😏
We received a bogus gpx track that led us to believe we would find this site elsewhere. We had given up after several failed attempts.
After leaving the Kanab area I obtained much better beta and determined we were searching in the wrong area. Fortunately our next scheduled stop was St George and we were advised our space was occupied for the weekend so we landed in a park near Moccasin mountain.
Today on my final day in the area I gave it one more try. Hurrah, finally found the ruins.
Very impressive site with pottery shards, hand prints (positive and negative prints), great and interesting pictographs and the cool ruins.

Gravel ride. 14mile climb through the canyon. Rideable sand & nice smooth gravel w only a few gnarly spots.
6 miles across the top mostly rolling. Perfect dirt road big ring cruise.
Decent has some spots of rock & very steep in spots.

Slot canyons are muddy. Bring extra shoes. Backpacks are tough in spooky. Bring first aid. We had to help woman with sprained ankle get out of canyon and called for helicopter rescue. Bring electrolytes for your water.

Great and easy canyon hike, a tough entrance at the North End and a rock slide blocks river 1/4 mile from south end. Once past slippery entrance at north no issues and there is a path around the rock slide hikers left going down canyon. So do it.

Difficult approach and difficult to find, but it is mind blowing. I did not do red breaks and this is the v-road approach from the high side. The north approach will arrive on the low side with the moki steps if you want to climb in. If you do, do not do it alone.

Fun easy little like but I would not want to do it in the summer. The area is unique and there are better hoodoos around however they can make for good photography during the right times. Please stay off of the hoodoos. I saw several people climbing on them. They are mostly soft mud ruck so they can erode quickly and one has already been flattened by people climbing on it.

this is only difficult in summer, when it’s like walking through a sandbox in an oven - there’s minimal elevation change but with 100° heat and no available treated water along the trail it’s a serious hazard for the unprepared and has resulted in multiple cases of heat exhaustion - in cooler weather especially after a rainfall to pack the sand, it’s much easier

nobody does this hike as drawn, that’d miss the best parts - try parking at the Mail Trail trailhead near the Boulder UT airport (the route shown here is the old Boulder Mail Trail, start at the east end), walk west to Death Hollow, south down Death to the Escalante River (watch for poison ivy, which is abundant), then east to UT-12 and hitchhike back to the airport - this is a two or possibly three day hike, Death is the prettiest part (but again, lots of poison ivy)

this trail is NOT easy in midsummer in 100° heat - people have gotten disoriented, collapsed and died way finding cross country between the slots - TAKE EXTRA WATER. in cooler weather, it’s a fairly easy trail. watch for the occasional pygmy rattlesnake in Spooky.

Long Canyon was unexpectedly beautiful! Easy ride. Wanted to connect to go over to The Nautilus but trails were washed out and we didn’t find the right crossing at the river, so the last part of the track is not one you want to follow!

This was a great route. Lots of great rock formations on the upper half. Howling Wolf was awesome to see. Stone Donkey canyon has a great slot. Very little water in the first half. Second half is all water walking mostly in creek. Several great spots to camp along the entire route.

I took this hike twice in the same day, once in the early afternoon to scout out some night sky photography locations and then again at night in the pitch black. The hike is easy with a little elevation at the end. At night it’s relatively easy if you follow the wash and know where to leave it to start the elevation portion. Bring a good flashlight. The location is ideal for star photography and I was very happy with my Milky Way photos. The hoodoos are very photogenic against the night sky.

Poop Creek would be a good name for it. It's a cool place but cattle graze all along the river here. Man, how about the BLM provides some water tanks to these ranchers and gets them away from the river.

Fun easy hike along the wash to the canyon. No signs or direction to it but if you follow foot prints and this map you’ll be fine. Starting point isn’t where it says and you can drive out to where the wash is. 4WD recommended and watch out for cows

This is an easy very short hike that anyone can do. The scenery is AMAZING. Most people turn around at the first toadstools, but if you follow the trail around the corner to the left there are more. We were the only ones who ventured further.

Please follow entrance-exit directions for canyons since there is a place with a rope and a hole in Spooky where you will do 10 feet drop. It will be hard to climb up with kids if you go opposite direction. Basically start with Peekaboo and go clockwise and you’ll be good. Some places were tricky but doable. Wear nice hiking boots with rubber soles which can hold you tight on slick stone.

Hands down my favorite hike. A little tricky going down through Spooky with Remy, I would likely run it backwards (Start with spooky then move to peekaboo) next time. So much fun playing and v bombing through these canyons!

Amazing 4x4 OHV Trail. One of the most insane trails I’ve seen to date. My only warnings are to make sure you have water and food for a day or two just Incase you get stuck in a downpour or break down it is extremely remote. The dirt when wet turns to clay and even a modded Jeep Wrangler with 4x4 capability will seize there axels. You’d have to wait the rain out and let things dry up. Overall, just be safe and you’ll be amazed by the scenery.

I hiked this loop in the beginning of December and it was so pretty and also completely empty. I was the only person on the trail and pretty much had the canyons to myself. Totally unreal and beautiful. Not that difficult of a hike though, only took a a couple hours. Definitely recommend!!

Although the hike on the road isn’t exciting, there are some good views along the way. But once we reached the destination, this was such a unique feature that I had to give it 5 stars. This was so different than anything we had ever seen before and we spent a long time just sitting and staring at it. The sand inside looked very fine and appeared to have a different color than the sand in other areas nearby. Amazing!

Sandy cow and river willow trail. Aug 30, hot and very little water, mostly contaminated with cow poo. Easier to walk in dry river bed than designated trail. Typical rocks of the area have seen better canyons in the area. Did see a few large petrified wood pieces in the dry river bed. Trail ends at nothing in particular. Blah, there are much better hikes to do in the Grand Escalante than this one.

Beautiful hike with 3 knee deep river crossings and some very challenging navigation at the end to actually get up the butte to reach the arch. The "trail" on GAIA is only a generic route, it will not direct you to the only way up the butte. My track shows how we searched and finally found the one way to ascend the butte.

We competed this trip OCT 2018 with a group of 9 4x4 rigs... we took the route from Big Water. It took us about 7 hours to go 40 miles. The road was rough and not driven often. There also is a huge gorge you have to drive down into and out of. I would not recommend after a rain. But let me tell you the morning sunrise over the lake in a spot not many get to was AWESOME!!! well worth the trek were we almost lost a rig off the side of the cliff. - Instagram photos @xpeditionamerica
