Nice hike. Recent rains brought out a bunch of mushrooms and we even found some blueberries (or huckleberries, I'm not sure). Only saw one other couple on the trail on a Sunday. Very quiet. Nice little peak with views on top of kit Carson. Otherwise the trail is mostly in deep woods. The uphill section (going counter-clockwise) is on a great wide trail that is consistently graded up to the peak. The downhill side felt steeper and there was more ups and downs.

Snowshoe trip to the historic CCC Cabin from the snowmobile parking lot. Only started tracks going back on Gaia. We took trail 130. Once you get past Bald knob cross road and look for trail 130 sign. We broke trail in a snowstorm and had to watch for blue diamonds to stay on track. Multi use cabin available for day use with wood for a fire. We warmed up and had lunch before snowshoeing back to the parking area.

I’ve always wanted to go to the top of mount Spokane on horseback and this was the day. The trail started out near Selkirk Lodge, rising pretty steeply at first and then leveling off past the campground with spectacular views. The trail from there to the top has been used a lot by mountain bikes so it’s pretty rough in places, and quite steep. Still, the reward is great views and a potty if you need it!
I should have taken the same route back but I wanted to make a loop. We ended up at a much lower elevation than the parking lot. The final climb back up was horrible. Whoever designed that trail was a sadist! I got off and walked up part of it so I can attest that it is brutal! Moral of the story is pay attention to the elevation 😵

Nice, clear trails. Be careful of mountain bikers coming down but you can usually hear them. Checkout the old CCC structures built along the way. You can drive up to the top so it’s a little lame that there are cars near by but the viewpoint cabin is a nice place to stop and eat a snack.

Great hike. Little to no water along the way in the summer, so bring your own. Views are great at the top! Lots of cool rocks. Also bug spray would have been nice.

I hiked this trail with snow shoes. It took about four hours. The only other people we saw the entire time were at the warming hut. Even with partial cloud cover, the view at the top was great. This was my first time in the Mt Spokane area. The network of trails can be confusing. The trails are well marked with signs, but they often don't match what's on the map. Without a GPS device (using Gaia specifically) this would have been very frustrating.
